One whole year! Baby Lili is ONE YEAR OLD!
The youngest member of my family turned ONE in January, and I was so excited to fly down for her birthday party and one year photo session. Since her birthday fell on a Saturday, her party was on her actual birthday! Which also meant we got to do a cake test run. Spoiler: she LOVES cake! Especially cupcakes.
I usually plan one year sessions prior to the birthday, but since I had to fly in from New Jersey, we did it after. I rented studio space from a local photographer and it worked out perfectly! Momma wanted white and gold for the smash, and added sunflowers for the splash portion. I love the gold polka dot balloons I found!
For portraits, mom brought in a couple adorable dresses, one being a dress from when she was little. It looked SO CUTE on sweet little Lili! After portraits were finished, it was cake time! She’s such a determined little girl, she picked the whole thing up! Then, she went in face first for a bite! I think this was actually the first time I’ve had a baby go face first! It was perfect and hilarious. She loved her cake and frosting, and we got so many adorable shots! When cake time was over, she snuck back on the set for just one more bite. Same, girl. Same!
We cleaned her up a little bit then moved on to the splash. At first she looked disappointed that we took the cake away, but she quickly realized she could splash in the water, and all was good! The studio I rented had the cutest little clawfoot tub, and the sunflowers tucked under it perfectly. I might have to make space to add one to my prop options in the future,
